My Radio Story
My passion for the airwaves and radio communications traces its roots back to the 11-meter band (27 MHz)—a world that has always remained close to my heart and represents my true radio origins.
Taking my first steps on the Citizen Band, I joined the "World Contest" DX Group, operating under the callsign 1WC414. I spent countless hours exploring DX calling frequencies (such as the classic 27.585 MHz), experiencing unforgettable seasons filled with propagation, DX contacts, and great friendships made over the air.
In 2013, I reached a major milestone by passing the exam and earning my official Amateur Radio license, receiving the callsign IZ3ZOF.
Station & Gear (Shack)
In my radio shack, I like combining the reliability of classic vintage gear with modern SDR technology:
HF / 50 MHz Transceivers:
Icom IC-7300
Icom IC-735
VHF / UHF Transceivers:
Dedicated V/UHF radios for local traffic and repeater operations.
Antenna Setup
HF (10, 15, 20, 40 meters): Dedicated vertical antennas.
HF Multiband: Long wire antenna.
10 / 11 / 12 meters: Sirio Gain Master (5/8 wave).
VHF / UHF: Diamond X510 (dual-band vertical).
Current Activity & QSL Info
Despite holding an OM license and operating on traditional amateur bands, my love for 27 MHz has never faded. In the evenings, you can regularly find me on 27.395 MHz USB, where I gather with a close group of radio friends and fellow operators to chat, test antennas, and share our passion for the radio world.
QSL Information:
eQSL / Electronic QSL: Preferred method (I primarily send and confirm via eQSL / electronic logs).
Paper QSL: I accept and send paper QSL cards DIRECT ONLY (NO Bureau).
